Under The Same Sun ☀️

I grew up in the desert where summers would easily be weeks of +40C temps. Now I live in the land of -40C.
I loved the desert sand, I miss it and hold it dear in my heart. So many of my favorite stories are of the desert. The rich history, colours, culture, food and languages.
The resilience of the desert dwelling beings under the bright scorching sun, it runs deep within my veins. The heat I need, as seasons change in my Great White North home now.
I love the shimmering snow covering the grass, trees and rooftops. I love the silence it brings and the magic of sunny winter days.
Such contrast.
Yet, the same sun shines over the desert and the tundra.
To conceive of one as better than the other is not possible. It is in fact the worst of questions to consider when the wonder of it alone can keep me sufficiently, and rather joyfully occupied.
